Show Choir Tour!

I just paid big bucks to download these professional pictures from Disneyland, but aren't they amazing?  The boys only got a handful of photos of themselves at Disneyland, and they were too frugal to buy souvenirs, so we decided to call these their souvenirs.  If you haven't heard the details, Derek and Lance auditioned for a show choir with CentreStage Theatre back in January.  Lance actually didn't make it orignally, but when they decided to add one more couple, he was first on the waiting list.  They have been rehearsing and fundraising for 5 1/2 months.  They both earned half of the cost of their trip, mostly from all the awesome people who donated their old cell phones.  They did a show before they left on tour, so we did get to see it even though we didn't travel to Disneyland with them. (We were pleasantly surprised with their dancing!) The 40 performers (age 11-17), their director and chaperones traveled in a tour bus, although more than half of their parents followed along in their own vehicles.
They performed one day at the Backlot Stage at California Adventure (Derek's picture) and the next day at the Carousel Stage by the Sleeping Beauty Castle (Lance's picture).  It was a fun medley of Little Mermaid, Lion King, and Tarzan songs.  They also got to do a workshop with some Disney performers.  Of course they also had plenty of time for rides and shows and having a great time.  I was a little worried about sending them off so young, but they did really well and I think being away from Mom and Dad was their favorite part.  The whole thing was an incredible learning experience for them.  They have blossomed into great performers, made friends, and gained life skills.  It was a chance of a lifetime that I'm so glad they were able to have.
