Even though we are hoping for more snow, we couldn't pass up the chance to hit the slopes. We had a great time even though it was extremely cold.

Nauvoo!

We send out weekly updates about our son Lance's mission, so a friend suggested we share about our family's recent 2 week mission to participate in the Nauvoo and British Pageants. Last time we held a little fireside, but thought we'd have a larger audience if we made a blog post instead, so here goes: In October, our family submitted an application and got word in December we'd be invited to be in the Red Family Cast. No acting experience is necessary because they don't ask us to play a character, just be ourselves and share the joy of the gospel through our mission language which is singing and movement. The Pageants run for 4 weeks and the Red Cast performs first, so we arrived in Nauvoo a week before the Pageants began to learn the blocking and choreography (which they refer to as "moving with joy"). Our second week, we perform the Pageants each evening while we help teach the Blue Family Cast so they are ready to perform the following week. SET ...

Covid Camping at Bryce Canyon

We started our trip in Provo at Brick Oven with Derek for Kurt's birthday. First hike on Friday. Kurt and Micah's classic high place poses Saturday morning on Peekaboo Loop The boys playing on Kurt's new slackline. Hike on Saturday evening. Sunday hike at Escalante to Lower Calf Creek Falls. Poses in front of waterfall. Water is not warm. Kurt swims all the way to the waterfall.

Cousin Kristin's Magical Wedding

This was very unlike me, but I'm so glad I went. I left my entire family at home and flew with my sister Alaina and met my mom and Dad in San Diego to attend my amazing cousin Kristin's wedding. I rarely do Girls Night Outs and I always feel guilty when I do selfish things, but Kristin is a special kind of person (there were tons of people who flew out for her wedding- she lives in Utah) and I thought it was a great opportunity to hang out with my awesome sister and parents. This post is mostly for my siblings to see that couldn't be there, but hope you all enjoy! Saturday morning, Alaina and I enjoyed a beautiful run along Newport Beach and on the pier.
